How This Calculator Works

This tool uses the Mifflin–St Jeor equation to estimate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), then multiplies it by your activity level to determine your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE).

BMR Formula

Male: 10 × weight + 6.25 × height − 5 × age + 5

Female: 10 × weight + 6.25 × height − 5 × age − 161

Activity Multipliers

  • Sedentary: × 1.2
  • Light: × 1.375
  • Moderate: × 1.55
  • Heavy: × 1.725
  • Very Heavy: × 1.9

Example

If you are a 25‑year‑old male, 170 cm, 65 kg, with moderate activity:

  • BMR ≈ 1608 calories
  • TDEE = 1608 × 1.55 ≈ 2492 calories/day
