Flooring Estimator

Enter your room dimensions and flooring piece size to calculate material quantity.

How It Works

The calculator determines the total room area and divides it by the area of one flooring piece. A waste percentage can be added to account for cuts and layout patterns.

Formula Used

  • Room Area: length ร— width
  • Piece Area: (piece length รท 100) ร— (piece width รท 100)
  • Pieces Needed: room area รท piece area
  • With Waste: pieces ร— (1 + waste รท 100)

Example

For a 5m ร— 4m room using 120cm ร— 20cm flooring pieces with 10% waste:

  • Room Area = 20 mยฒ
  • Piece Area = 0.24 mยฒ
  • Pieces Needed = 84
  • With Waste = 93 pieces

Should I buy extra flooring?
Yes โ€” leftover pieces are useful for future repairs or replacements.

Does plank orientation affect the calculation?
No โ€” area-based calculations remain the same regardless of direction.
