How It Works

The calculator determines the total area of your surface and divides it by the area of a single tile. You can also add a waste percentage to account for cuts and breakage.

Formula Used

Surface Area: length × width
Tile Area: (tile length ÷ 100) × (tile width ÷ 100)
Tiles Needed: surface area ÷ tile area
With Waste: tiles × (1 + waste ÷ 100)

Example

For a 5m × 3m room using 30cm × 30cm tiles with 10% waste:

Surface Area = 15 m²
Tile Area = 0.09 m²
Tiles Needed = 167
With Waste = 184 tiles
